TIM & PAM ERNST'S CLOUDLAND PROPERTY
Enjoy your very own peaceful slice of heaven that sits 600’ above the Buffalo National River in Newton County, Arkansas. This spectacular property called Cloudland is located just above the same 100’ tall sandstone bluffline where the famous Hawksbill Crag/Whitaker Point is located. In fact you can literally walk out the back door of the log cabin at Cloudland and hike a primitive trail to Hawksbill Crag and be there in 15 minutes! (The Crag is less than a mile away from the cabin “as the crow flies.”) Cloudland was designed by noted nature photographer, Tim Ernst, and it has been his home, studio, canvas gallery, and book storage and shipping facility for 19 years. This spacious log cabin and 40 acres is a completely protected piece of property looking out over the expansive 12,000 acre Upper Buffalo River Wilderness Area and is surrounded by the million-acre Ozark National Forest; and the 100,000-acre Buffalo National River park boundary is only a half mile north from the cabin! From the back deck, witness clouds being born after a summer rain, eagles soar, and watch the emerald waters of the mighty Buffalo River roll right on by below. At night, enjoy some of the darkest skies in Arkansas with the clearest views of the Milky Way spread out before you.
The 3+ bedroom log cabin on 40 acres is located at the end of a county road and is perfect for a permanent residence, weekend getaway, or anything you could ever dream up. In fact a lot of dreams come true at Cloudland. A full walk-out basement is loaded with special features such as a media room, spare bedroom and full bath, sunroom with hot tub, and a sauna to relax the weary bones after a day of exploring the wilderness. With four additional buildings on the property it is easy to plan those large family gatherings or to have your favorite artist retreat. There is space for everyone. Electric, DSL/phone land line, satellite TV, 2,000 gallon water storage tank in Aspens Meadow provides gravity feed water from the deep drilled well (tank is 200 feet in elevation above the cabin).
NOTES FROM TIM ERNST. Our incredible Cloudland property is now for sale (we want to move closer to Jasper, Arkansas, so we can be closer to my wife's parents - AND so that our warehouse and gallery will be closer and more accessible for our customers). It is one of the most secluded and spectacular parcels of land in Arkansas. 40 acres, bordered on the east (1/4 mile frontage) and south (1/4 mile frontage) by Upper Buffalo Wilderness Area, Ozark National Forest. It is just a 15-minute hike to Hawksbill Crag out the back door of the cabin via primitive trail. Views of the Buffalo River below, and frequent sound of the river. There really isn't any other spot like Cloudland, which has been my home, office, studio, and photography and publishing business since 1997.
There are five different buildings on the property, plus a gazebo. Photos below show each building outside and also all the different rooms in the log cabin. We are happy to show our property personally - by appointment only - please use the Contact button above for e-mail or call 870-861-5536. $1,500,000. Thank you. - Tim Ernst.
